We met a group called Room to Read and their goal is helping to develop education all over Vietnam. As we already know, there are poor areas that can't afford for education so most of the children have dropped out of school. Initially, you should watch this video to find out more about an inspirational story of a girl who became a teacher in Vietnam, with the assistance of Room to Read. The next video is about a challenge that millions of people can do but I bet you can't. It's right beside the first one.

I will reflect on some questions:
-In The Story of Tay Thi (video), what inequalities does she face? How does she overcome them?
Tay Thi faces wealth inequality because the door of success from education closes to her since her family didn't have enough money. They forced her to drop out of school because their set of beliefs are that girls or poor people like them will make no difference in this society. As mentioned, by thinking that girls aren't as talented or as valuable as boys, you are building gender inequality in your mind. Tay Thi parents believed that girls, even with knowledge can't do anything. Is that true?
-What is Room to Read's main focus?
Room to Kids intend to provide or assist kids in poverty with an education from elementary to high school. They believe that knowledge can change the world with effort, hope, determination, and courage. Do you think it can? You might be thinking that education from grade 1-12 is affordable to most families. However, some families living in poverty can only send maximally 1 kid to school; most poor families have about more than 2 kids. This indicates that the one that is more talented or the one that is they boy gets the education.
-What information from the presentation surprised you or made you feel something?
I was inspired most by the picture of the library in Nepal. It was the small seed where John Wood started with to be successful. From that picture or scene, it was the key that unlocked the mystery inside Room to Read. John Wood talked to the principal of the school in Nepal and the principal said that the only thing they need is some books to fill the library, nothing more. Owing to the shocking answer, John Wood emailed 100 friends and encourage them to donate books after considering about the "request". After 1 month, he raised 3000 books for that library. Isn't that amazing? There are so many books in our library and I wasn't thankful for them. They were here, ready for me to check it out and read or keep it as long as I want in 2 weeks, but I wasn't using my opportunity very wisely ▰˘︹˘▰
-What can YOU do to help girls stay in school and receive an education?
There are many ways to help girls to get an education. First of all, we can help them financially if we can find a respectful way to hand that over. Evidently, most parents at our school like to donate and my mom does to. I believe that I can be a STAR and ROCK for one day by doing some simple chores in order to earn a little cash and donate them to the kids living in poverty. I am sure I will feel much better if I earned the money, not asking for them from my parents. On the other hand, we can donate books to help them reach their desire of becoming a knowledgeable person. We have a book fair at our school annually so our school saves us a step from having to find someplace to give the books. Lastly, we can write blog posts about this and share it with everyone or write emails or letters or any kind of encouragement than will promote more donors. It might be challenging at first but that doesn't mean that it's impossible (❁´◡`❁)*✲゚*
