Quarter 4 just came by! In Social Studies unit this quarter, we are going to be taught about poverty. I guess it's a very argumentative topic around recently and people are wondering why it's them but not us being like that? There aren't exactly the final answer for that question because of many reasons. As fifth graders, I believe that myself and my classmates are very lucky to study about this topic. We have watched 3 series from whypoverty.net in class and we are going on our adventure in MinecraftEdu. My homeroom teacher, miss Hannah will be preparing 4 different worlds in Minecraft and we will be spawn into one of them. There will be 4 different countries ; Russia, U.S.A, Saudi Arabia, and Finland. There will also be 3 classes ; upper class, middle class, and poverty.
Beforehand, my classmates and I will make a wish were we to have the ability to choose our position in Minecraft:
If I get to choose my character in MinecraftEdu world, I would like to be living in the U.S.A as an upper class citizen and it doesn't really matter to me which gender I get. I chose to live in the U.S.A because when we build anything on a piece of land, that piece of land immediately belongs to us and I believe we can get very rich from owning land. An upper class citizen in the U.S only has to pay 15% tax and that's very rare. The worst choice of mine is Saudia Arabia because in Saudi Arabia, there isn't a lot of water. Women also have to work indoors and if I were a woman in Saudi Arabia, I am going to...
Thanks for reading my wish:)
