To write a "perfect" essay, we need an introduction and a conclusion. In class, Ms.Hannah have taught me how to write an introduction and a conclusion. Here are the requirements.
INTRODUCTION | CONCLUSION |
LEAD: The very first sentence of our essay plays a very important role to decide whether the reader should read your essay or not. Types of leads: Quotation Lead: Using dialouge One-word Lead: Start the sentence with one strong word Onomatopoeia Lead: Using sounds Fact Lead: Start the story with an interesting fact. Question Lead: Using a question 2. A connection with the reader. 3. Background-knowledge sentences 4. Thesis statement: states the topic and lead you to the whole essay. As you write your introduction, you will start to notice that you are narrowing your introduction. You are leading your reader to your main idea. As you go, try to make it more specific so the audience know what you are actually telling them. | A statement: No list A summary of main ideas Final thought -wondering -call for action -an opinion -a solution - a prediction The conclusion closes your essay so try to keep it nice and short. |
