Here's probably what you've been waiting for:)
The Big Problem
Air pollution. It is one of the most serious issue nowadays and most countries are dealing with it, especially in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. The city has recently been developing in many fields that leads to air pollution such as industry, manufactures, and economic development. As cities grow more quickly, cars and trucks get purchased more often, and the effects of air pollution starts to impact the environment. Many experts have recommended three possible solutions to protect the environment.
What Causes Air Pollution?
Many foreign companies invest in Ho Chi Minh city and build a lot of factories outside of the city. During their manufacturing process, they let their chemicals and sulfur oxide flutter freely throughout the atmosphere. The chemicals and sulfur oxide become smog that stays in the sky, which is a combination of fog and smoke. Furthermore, waste from those factories have a great influence on landfills, water pollution and air pollution. In order to transport products into the central city, factories have been using trucks and containers which lead to a reduction of air quality in Ho Chi Minh city. Companies that processes food, wood, metal, paper, cement, and chemical are impacting on air pollution. Although new factories have been improved by installing some advanced air treatment systems, we are still not out of the pit. There is not an area in the Earth's atmosphere that has not been polluted, therefore it might take a very long time for the Earth to recover.
Transportation
As you know, scooters are probably the most popular and “economic freedom " vehicle in Vietnam. Most customers have a liking for it because it is affordable, easy to get around with and fees are much cheaper than cars. Scooters release a gas called carbon monoxide which is very harmful to the atmosphere. As a consequence of too many scooters going around, the air quality in Ho Chi Minh city is not as clear and sanitized as it used to be. If you were at the highest tower in Ho Chi Minh city, you would likely see smog all over the sky. Beside scooters, using and purchasing cars also contribute to the level of air pollution. In Ho Chi Minh City, main districts such as district 1, district 2, district 3, and district 7 are now facing severe traffic-jams during rush hours which causes air pollution level to rise significantly.

Natural Disasters
Natural sources also play an important role on air pollution. Dust storms and wildfires are two common examples that affects the environment. Dust and sand together with tropical storms have not really caused humongous damage due to the fact that the nature can easily recover by itself. Different from dust storms, wildfires somehow have been impacting the forest with its smoke and carbon monoxide. Natural sources collaborate very well with the Earth and nature which makes it easy for them to recover after disasters.
Health Treatments
We are actually breathing in all of these emissions. Some companies are kind enough to clean up their pollution but most do not. Nowadays, people get all types of diseases and sicknesses from breathing in all of these emissions. You can get asthma, lung cancer, stroke, heart disease and pneumonia. These diseases are all dangerous and harmful to your body which makes you suffer everyday you are still having it. Companies still continue to pollute the air, despite the fact that it's not good for our health. So as to satisfy your demands and needs, factories do it anyway since they make a lot of benefits from it. Our water source has also been polluted because the wastewater management is not sanitized and citizens have a lack of knowledge on the environment. Trash and other stuff have been thrown into canals, lakes, ponds, and rivers which creates an unpleasant smell such as sulfur oxide, nitrates and phosphates. Since the toxic gases can be very detrimental to people’s living areas, it could results in a ton of health problems such as bronchitis, asthma and other respiratory diseases. According to Vietnam News, 5.6 million patients spend $70.9 million a year on treatments. Thus, air pollution will undoubtedly increase the number of infectious and noninfectious diseases in human.

Global Warming
Industrial activities, traffic activities, and natural sources have affected global warming. Greenhouse gases emitted from factories are very dangerous to the atmosphere since it traps everything. People are facing ocean warming, rising temperature, sea-level rise, storms and floods. Trees have been pollarded every year which causes floods and sea-level rise, even yearly tropical storms. Vietnam News have reported that 44 percent of air pollution level is higher than usual. Hence, air pollution will change the climate and increase both frequently and intensity of natural disaster, resulting in major catastrophes yearly in Vietnam.

Effects on Wildlife
After the smog dances around in our city, where does it go? It travels and spreads everywhere, including the forests. The forest is a crucial part of our survival. It supplies us with food, water, oxygen and woods. Animals live everywhere in the forest, even underground. The smog causes wild animals to die since that's what they breath in everyday. Sometimes people eat these animals and they caught diseases from eating them because of the chemicals inside the animals. Therefore, the tropical forest system will continue to lose different animals and plants species which indicates that air pollution is a serious threat for environment biodiversity.

What Can We Do?
Do you want to help Earth? There are many possible ways you can take part in to reduce air pollution. I believe that the government should encourage citizens to use public transportation, especially bus. When you go by bus, you can get to work, hangout with your friends, and even travel some place far. Using buses increases the chance of you getting more physically active, mainly because you have to walk to bus stops and move around while waiting for buses. The more often you use buses, the healthier you will get. In particular, using buses help you lower the risk of many diseases; for example diabetes, depression, heart diseases and stroke. Another benefit of riding buses is saving your pocket and avoiding parking fees. More importantly, I personally think that buses are safer than private transportation. The last reason for using bus is that buses always keep the space and the air clean. Otherwise, most people recommended that riding a bicycle or walking is even better. Many companies have invented light bulbs that use less energy than normal ones which helps you pay less. Using this type of light bulbs is a very good way to conserve energy and I personally encourage you to use them. There are also many different energy-efficient devices that you can use instead of regular devices. One of the best way for you to reduce air pollution is to conserve energy. You should always remember to turn off your computers, fans, lights, air conditioners, and electric appliances when they are not being used. A large amount of fossil fuels are burned to produce electricity every day. Your actions will be very helpful in preserving the environment.

It's Up To You
Human plays an important role on air pollution. People make drastic changes to the Earth as it is unable to handle all of these changes. Industrial activities and the burning of fossil fuels are the two major causes of air pollution. The effects are pretty dangerous to our lives and the living areas. Using public transportation, conserving energy, and using energy-efficient devices can help reduce air pollution. I hope my suggestions could be useful to the environment. Whether the air quality is clean or not, it depends on your actions.
